The short answer: no.

 

You just have to change some settings on your phone to download apps outside of the Android Market. 

 

Here's how:

 


  1. Go to your list of apps.

  2. Click on Settings.

  3. Click on Applications.

  4. Put a check mark next to Unknown Sources.


 

Now you should be able to download apps outside the Android Market.
